Dear FOG Youth Parent,
After a few weeks of a much needed Christmas Vacation, we are now back to the grind at school. Over the break, many of your youth went to Youth Advance and were challenged greatly. I truly believe that each student who committed the time and finances to go on the trip to Dallas had a great time and, more importantly, got closer to God in a real way. Let me encourage you as a parent to please be supportive of your youth’s attendance to events like Youth Advance in the future. There is something special that happens in a student’s life when he/she gets away from the daily rigors of life to be saturated in God’s Word and Worship.

There are a few upcoming events that I wanted you to be aware of, even though I’m sure your youth has already filled you in on them (they did, right? Oh yeah, that’s why I’m following up with this letter. Maybe it slipped their mind.)

Lighthouse Lanes/Lamberts- Saturday, Feb. 2

Just a fun trip to Springfield to bowl and eat. We will leave at 11 am from the FOG Depot for 2 games of bowling under black lights in a Christian Bowling environment, then on to the “Home Of The Throwed Rolls” to eat an early supper. Students need to eat a light lunch before the come or bring one with them to eat on the way. Our return time will be largely dependent on how long we have to wait to get seated at Lamberts.
COST- $20- Checks made out to Bethel Church
DEADLINE- Money and permission form due no later than WED. JAN 23rd!!!

Disciple Now- Friday, Feb. 29-Sunday, March 2

This is a weekend “in-house” youth retreat designed to recharge your youth during the spring semester and to push them on to a deeper walk with God. We will have a guest speaker for the weekend, plus guest small group leaders. Your youth will spend the night together (guys and girls separate of course) (and split up according to age too) Friday and Saturday night in a “host home” provided by Bethel Church members. They will receive an event T-shirt, which will be expected to be worn to Church on Sunday. Sunday will be youth emphasis, with our speaker delivering the messages. The event will officially begin around 7pm on Friday at The FOG Depot (a more specific time will be forthcoming), and will end after the morning service at Bethel. All meals (not including supper Friday night) will be provided.
COST- $40 or $50, depending on when the $ and form gets turned in.
DEADLINE- Early bird special $40 money and permission form due by Feb. 13th. The price goes up to $50 if we get the money and permission form by Feb. 20th.

Please do not hesitate to let the leadership know if the cost for any event we have (especially those spiritual in nature like DNow) hinders your youth from being able to be involved. And let us know if you have any questions about these events or about anything else as it pertains to the FOG. We appreciate your support and prayers as we seek the Lord’s Direction as we lead your youth.
